 No special outfit or costume for Halloween for me.  Just started getting dark and I'm sure the trick or treating will start soon.  Though we haven't gotten many trick-or-treaters the last few years. A lot of parents take their kids to little festival or carnival events around town.  That just means more candy for me.  ;)

Family Time

This weekend was mostly spent with my family.  My brother and his family came out with this weekend. Always fun having the baby around.  She was adorable and actually behaved really well.  She's a tiny little thing  (like me!) but she is two years old already, even though she just barely started to fit into 18 month clothes.

They all left early this morning.  Shame they can never really stay longer.  We might not see them again until march!  My brother is in the army.  He's got some schooling he'll be doing in a month or so, all the way on the east coast.   Didn't really get a chance to get pictures in the last two days because of their visit.  I did manage to get some shots in today though.

The boots,  while way more than I'd normally spend on shoes didn't actually cost me that much in the end.  I post the pre-discount prices of my items because I know not everyone always uses coupons when they shop.  I just bought them recently.  After a shopping trip to pick up some Christmas presents, I got earned a $10 coupon at kohl's (known as Kohl's cash).  I used them toward the purchase of these boots, along with a 30% off coupon I had for using my kohls charge.  It brought the price down closer to around $25 - a much more reasonable and budget friendly price.

No new outfit posts yet.  We've been struck at home with what seems to be the stomach flu... or well some kind of stomach bug.  At first it was just my mother and I, then my dad got it.  We've had it all week though and it still hasn't gone away.

So instead of an outfit (trust me, i wasn't very presentable looking all week anyways), you get a drawing I did for a friend of mine today.  Just one of their characters.

Belts.... are my downfall.  I get so jealous seeing so many bloggers rocking cute little belts. If I get a belt I usually have to punch an extra whole or two in it... because I'm TOO small.  Seriously- you'd think belts would be more aimed and designed for smaller people, since they'd have more trouble keeping things on but alas they are not.  What's a girl to do?

The Top here is something I actually just recently acquired.  I was "browsing" forever 21 when i stumbled across it.  I'm usually pretty picky with my clothes I get there, since a lot of their stuff can be made rather poorly.  My favorite part of this piece is the necklace and there is actually a little story behind how I got it.

Its been a while now, but some time ago I was taking sign language courses; one of the requirements in those classes is attending some kind of deaf event.  Because of that I chose to go to the deaf expo. Its a big event with lots of different features and booths. I was browsing the booths with my mother (who happens to be hard of hearing) when I stumbled across this necklace.  It was made by a Japanese couple who were deaf.  It was really fun signing with them in ASL and talking about the Japanese language because at that same time I was just starting to take Japanese classes as well.  It was definitely the highlight of the event, and the necklace has become one of my favorites.  :)

Also just because I was out with the dog while taking pictures, here's a little up close picture of her.  Her name is Kelly- though half the time we call her Kelly Bean- or "The Bean."  She's all muscle and quite the little bully unfortunately.  But She can be sweet when she wants to be.... usually with my dad only though, he's her favorite.

Today was a work day for me- as was most of the week.  However, unlike the rest of the week, this shift required me to dress up a bit.  Most of the week I was working early in the morning- and by early I mean at 5am. some days at 6.  Because of the earliness and the fact I was working truck some of those days, I ended up dressing like a slob.  I didn't really come home to get pretty.  Hence why there weren't any posts this week until today.

Sunday of Laziness

While I may have dressed up, today was very much a lazy day.  The boots, you've only seen before in a drawing, so I decided to try and get a picture for a better idea of how they look.  Sadly that lovely red car behind me isn't mine- just my dad's company car.  I myself drive a bug. 

Its been hard lately because I have been wanting to go shopping, but I don't really have the funds to do so.  However oddly enough i say that and ended up picking up two extra shifts at work.  Hopefully they will help me with paying back my parent's for helping my get my car fixed.  I'm so thankful they're always there to help me when I need it.  I seem to have terrible luck with cars.  However I don't owe them too much and I'm thankful I at least have a job however unsteady the hours can be.

So I finally found the camera. Apparently it had been in my room for one day, and mom got worried I'd lose it in there, so she took it back.  Go figure. Life's been keeping me tied anyways, so it was probably best.  Been sick the last couple days.  I think its just some kind of stomach bug.  Regardless, my stomach has not been happy.

To talk about my clothes a little, the dress belongs to my mother.  I raided her closet almost a year ago and stole it from her.  Its actually a size medium, so its slightly big on me, but not so much so that its extremely noticeable. It no longer fit my mom,  so it was better off in my closet than hers.
Some of you might be thinking, isn't that a little much for those boots?  And yes,  I normally wouldn't pay that much for them.  But you see, I have rather small feet, wearing only a size 6. Last year we had similar boots and I waited for them to go on sale cheaper, but by the time they did become $20 they no longer had my size and we stopped getting them in.  I wasn't going to take that risk this year, so I bought them early.  However,  after all my discounts, I only ended up paying $20 for them,  so I guess it wasn't so bad in the end. 

I'm glad to have my camera back.  I'll be sure not to lose it anymore.

Disappearance

So some of you are probably wondering why I haven't posted the last few days... well it turns i misplaced the camera somewhere. If you were to see my room, which you more than likely never will, you would be able to understand how I lost it.  Its not exactly the most... organized place. 

Sadly I still have not found it, so i lack any photos for you, nor have i really been drawing much to even show you an outfit.  I wouldn't have wanted to draw my outfits from this weekend because I wore some prints and well, they're not the easiest things to duplicate.  I did however sneak a drawing in this weekend that I will post to show you guys.  At least its something?

This is an original character of mine.  I enjoy dressing my characters up in various outfits, however to keep the being recognized as a certain character I keep to a color scheme for their outfits.  Haha, kinda like the old power ranger shows if that doesn't make sense to you.
